if of any interest: there has been a problem between different versions of the tool reading the format properly
and remember: only a CRAY can run an endless loop in just three seconds. -
Excuse me for asking this if it is somewhere in the archives... I've got a weird squeak at the beginning of legato phrases...seems to be coming from the legato strings I have running. Really ruins the mood... how do I fix that? Does it have something to do with the ghost key? I'm thinking the legato starts have a scooping sound, like they are coming from a note and not just starting, but I'm just wanting them to start with that particular note.
I've just started working with the performance tool - so maybe I am doing something wrong.
???
Also - my trumpet ensemble legato would not load - said the sound wasn't there. ????? Is this a known problem, or should I try to redownload it?
Thanks.

Have you set the legato to "Hor-Legato" and not just "Legato" in the tool?

"Have you set the legato to "Hor-Legato" and not just "Legato" in the tool?"
I haven't actually been setting anything in the tool - have just been using the "perf legato" sounds out of the box, so to speak.
I looked in the display (where you press the "edit" button) and didn't find anything that said or even referred to "Hor-Legato".
<sigh>
Obviously, further research is needed... although I didn't find anything about that in the manual.

You NEED to set the tool to legato for a particular channel, otherwise you don't get any legato at all.@primadonna said:

well... its all there under Legato page 6. in the manual. Black on white [:)]

When I go to look at the tool, it is already selected for "legato" for the legato instruments.
I found what seems to be the problem. It is in the perf-leg-p sounds, across the board. The other perf-leg sounds don't have that catch at the beginning. I had set all my leg sounds to the leg-p, and that is why the problem was so obvious. The problem is that is all there is for the flute and the bassoon... so I changed the flute part to a cube part and kept the bassoon, because I love it's sound (other than the catch at the beginning).
Christian - I looked at page 6 in my manual - it only had the Introduction and Registration information. The only thing it said about the performance tool is that it was offered. [:P]
Does anyone else have these problems with the perf-leg-p sounds? Is there anyway to fix them?
Thanks for the assistance.

ok.. I forgot.. what product you using? If its one from the Horizon series I.E. Opus 1, it must be set to HOR-LEGATO... not just LEGATO
I have Opus 1... and the latest version of the Tool... if you dont have that, download it. In that manual you will find some info on page 6 and on...
Btw.. when you say manual.. waht do you mean? You need the TOOL manual... that you will find with the TOOL... in the same packed file.

I don't have Horizon; I have the first edition cube and performance set running with Mac OSX on a dual G4 with EXS24. I was looking on page 6 of the performance manual.
"Hor-legato" must be selective to Horizon, I'm guessing?
