  • I rebooted the computer. Same error message.

  • Hi esperlad,

are you using the library installer from the Vienna Instruments folder? Just to make sure you´re not using an old Library Installer...

  • I am not certain. I just pull it up from start/programs/vienna instruments/library installer. I assumed that when I re-installed the player that the installer would also change and update.

  • That´s correct.

I just wanted to check, you might have used an old link or shortcut...

Just for safety reasons, I´d try the following: Search for "Library Installer" and see if you can find more than one. If you can, please delete the older ones.

You can also check whether there are some versions of the Vienna Instruments somewhere on your system. Look for "ViennaInstruments.dll" and delete all old versions.

That helped in one case (with a different problem though), maybe it helps you, too.

  • I had this same error before updating from 5.0.5.0 to 5.2.6.2

  • Oh yes, of course it could also be the Syncrosoft License Control Center.... thanks, SyQuEsT

I totally forgot to ask, which version you are using. Please make sure that it is the latest version you find on www.syncrosoft.com

  • Yes, I have updated that software. It would not let me download the licences for the newer products. I use two different computers. One is for the authorizations/registrations. The other computer is for music use. I will also check that computer, and see what is on there.

  • I found an older installer, and removed it. I decided to reinstall the software, which went fine. When I tried to install AP strings...same error message. I checked for ViennaInstruemnts.dll and nothing came up. As I have stated, the License Control software is current. I downloaded that from the website.

I searched for the Library Installer again...the date showing is 9/25/06. I had deleted the old one, and reinstalled the software from the disc that was packaged with the Bosendrofer.

  • You are always safest to go with the latest update you find on our webpage [:)]

Still not working? That IS very strange. Did you try on another computer, e.g. your internet computer, just to extract the content?

I´m very sorry for the inconvenience!

  • I tried installing the AP strings on my other computer. I got the same error message. I used latest version of the software from the website. The version on the Bosendorfer package should have worked, or at least be good enough. Can someone please find out what is happening? Perhaps someone could talk to the software developer and ask him why that message was put there in the first place?

  • I thought I would try to install again. I am getting the same error message: The Following Licences are needed to install this package: Appassionata Strings I Basic.

Does anyone have any new information? Has the software developer been contacted? If the library installer is too old, can someone send me that separatly?

  • just a thought - are you running some kind of local firewall? if so, please allow local TCP/IP calls.

and remember: only a CRAY can run an endless loop in just three seconds.
  • This computer has no firewall.

  • have you got any screenshots to paul already? if not, it would be helpful to see a) license control center showing ViennaKey# and licenses of collections which do not install b) errormessage of installer c) standalone player showing some patches

  • The AP violins are installing. I seemed to fixed the problem.

I updated the Syncrosoft software on my music computer. So, the lesson is: Update the softeware on *both* computers. I thought the software only needed to be updated on a system that is connected to the internet for downloading the newer licences. I thought the key took care of everything else once the information was on there. I guess not...

If there are any problems with the Bosendorfer, I will let you know.
