A Solo Strings Question

I have been following the Vienna libraries ever since they came out and have always thought of them as the "Holy Grail" of sampled instruments. Maybe it's the amazingly talented people who create the demos, the sounds themselves, or a combination, but I do not experience these sounds, at this level, anywhere else. I am hoping to get my 1st Vienna instrument, the solo strings, and like a lot of us am on a budget. I will only be able to buy the standard version. Will this give me enough of a pallette to come close to some of the demos? (assuming I have the compositional talent) I really love portamento and hope that I can acheive that with the standard package.

I do own EWQL GOLD and GOLD Pro XP but believe that VSL will "take me up a notch" Am I dreaming?

Any insight into this wonderful library would be much appreciated.

Hi Darren,

you can see a comparison chart here when you click on "Std/Ext Library". You will find the portamento included with all the Standard Library instruments of the Solo Strings Collection [:)]
And there´s definitely a lot to achieve with "just" the Standard Library!

Please visit this link and choose then ""STD/EXT Library".

It appears a table with the articulations you will get with the standard and additional with the extended library.
Further I believe that you will be able to use the whole library (ext and std) for some days (30?) even if you only plan to buy the standard one.
Try to find out in those free days whether you are happy without or with the extended library.
It is possible to upgrade to the extended library at any time... The only thing you have to do: Wait until your purse is refilled. [[;)]]
