    In other words, I'm a bit confused about the best way to keyswitch to a new matrix
    and then to a patch within that new Matrix, all around the same time? Would I just
    enter in the note info for the new Matix first (i.e. C#2), and then right after that
    enter the note info for the patch.

    That's exactly what I do. You can change patches by using a controller, such as the mod wheel, but I have found that it is easier to use the lowest octave for switching matrices and the next to lowest one for changing patches.

    With version 1.1. of the VI software, you can also switch the Matrices of a Preset with Program Changes 101-112, if you prefer it that way ... makes the editor look a bit less clustered [[;)]]
