  • problem download demo

    I try download demo
it start dowloding 300 kb/s for first second then it go down to 10 20 30 kbs.
why this is my problem or the band is limited?

  • christian, i've justed looked through some records and couldn't find something noticeable ... as an example from the server logs for your requests: 2006-08-19 16:34:01 MH_USA-Today.mp3 1926545 Bytes 7188 ms - this is ~260 kB/s (= speed the server delivered the file).
are there any proxy servers, firewalls, ect in the game?
the available bandwidth is 100Mbit and the highest value ever reached was 24 Mbit (during bonus-files downloads), so there should be pretty much headroom left ...

it seems you're on a dynamic IP-address, so you could make a traceroute to vsl.co.at (using network utility) and email me the result to have a look for possible reasons.

  • I'm also having download problems with this site. Yes my ISP is not always perfect but today everything is fine with many other large downloads, but every time I try to get your QT video tutorials I get it hanging at some stage. I've tried download and streaming, never gets the complete 70 MB.

  • my apologies - we had to reboot the server for maintenance, please revisit

  • Could there be an FTP download address? That might do the trick.

  • unfortunately not - have you tried to right-click (or ctrl-click) on the download button and select *save target as* from the context menu?

  • I'm trying again today but still no luck. The video tutorials just stop downloading after a while.

No problems with large downloads on other sites. I'm trying streaming as well as saving the link target.

  • Hi Pete,

I have just tried to download the Video Tutorials with 3 different computers (2 Macs, 1 PC) on different connections (everything from 100-400 KB/s) and couldnĀ“t find any troubles....
Very strange. Do you have another access to download the files? ThatĀ“s what I would do for now.

    Best,

    Paul
