    Just wondering how people are dealing with the file system for dual-booting their Intel Macs? I think OS X can read NTFS now, but I'm not sure... My sample drive is HFS+, so will I have to re-format it if I want to boot into windows? (I suppose I already know the answer is "yes"... ugh!)

    The answer is YES [:(]

    Sorry. However OSX can read NTFS which is what I do. I use bootcamp and the samples run off a seperate NTFS FW drive. I can also read from this from within OSX so when VSL sort out the OSX crack/pop issues I'll go back to using RAX and OSX.

    No need to reformat your disc if you get one of the utliities that enable windows to read Mac discs. I tried MAC DRIVE 6 http://www.mediafour.com/products/macdrive6/
    and it worked fine. A word of warning - if you allow Windows access to your Mac Discs you also alow access to all those horrible Windows viruses!

    although i can only comment on macdrive 5: it is faster for streaming HFS+ volumes on windows than Panther is with NTFS volumes ...

    well, at least some homework has to be done on all platforms - security leaks exist everywhere including your mobile phone. why should a DAW contain virusses if you didn't allow it in a certain way? if a computer is connected to the internet, i'd recommend to run the regulary updates regardless whether it's XP or OSX. and to destroy a common roumor: search for Leap.A - a worm spreading over ichat contacts ...

    Thanks for the tips!

    I don't let the PC online... ever... anyway, so no worries about virii.

    I'm going to mess around with it a bit in OS X first, but I haven't noticed
    anywhere whether the clicking and popping in OS X with an external sequencer
    has been fixed yet, so I may wind up needing to run it in windows.

    Actually, is there any word on the clicking/popping from an external sequencer? Fixed? Nearly fixed? I'd very much prefer keeping the MacBook on OS X, not XP...
