However, I've heard reports that the 32-bit Logic and Pro Tools for Intel zip along really well, and VSL has reported that the Vienna Instruments player is very good on it too. Depending on what software is ready, it might still be a great machine in the meantime.
The big problem with the other Intel Macs is that they only hold 2GB of memory. This one doesn't have that problem - although it's probably dangerous just to assume that it loads 3GB of VSL + 2GB of other stuff just like the PowerPC version.
