Sorry I'm being thinck here but my quoting always looks like this - it doesn't seem to understand the formating:

What am I doing wrong? And how can I get to display the name of the original poster?

  • Hi Dom,
in your profile is "Always allow BBCode" set to on? (it probably should be)
When I write a post my Options (down to the left) is:
    HTML is OFF
    BBCode is ON
    Smilies are ON

To get the name of the original poster press the "quote" button for the post you want to reply to.
    Hope this helps.

    Best,
    Nils

Excellent! Thanks. In fact "disable BBCode in this post" was always ticked by default here.

  • That makes sense. I'll have to try that next time.

I've been pressing quote next to text tablitures ect.. up top and then previewing it to make sure its correct. you have a preview button on bottom. The emotion faces I get all kind of text with it, that I have to delete all the time.

  • thanks guys for stepping in [:D]
you can edit and configure many settings in your forum profile (except HTML - this is turned off by default)

you and others might also take a look on the row of buttons below the subject line of a new post or reply - moving with the mouse over the buttons displays the respective BBcode and shortcuts in the field below for advanced usage

The easiest way to learn how to use BBcode is probably to check out the BBcode FAQ.
