  • Tuning problem with KB-6_stac-1+2 ?

It may just be my ears but has anyone noticed a tuning problem with KB-6_stac-1+2 epsecially d#1 ? I know double basses can sound a little 'vague' especially at the extremes, but this particular note seems to stand out a little.

    Is it my ears ?

    Kind regards

    Nick

  • Nick you will find the biggest differance in tuning when comparing changes of velocities. Some sound quite differnt, almost like the player is sliding into pitch. Cellos staccs seem to suffer from this too. I'm just confirming your ears here.

  • Thanks. I thought so, but it happened on a day when everything in Gigastudio loaded in with cents tunning down to -100. I thought something else might have gone wrong.

    Thanks again

    Nick

  • You're not imagining things.......

In playing through just a few instruments, I found these problems:
KB-6_stac_f1_E2.wav has more than one pitch!
VC-8_stac_ff1_B2.wav (as above: high d overtone)
    VC-8_stac_ff1_G3.wav (also)
    VC-8_sV_espr_4s_ff_D3.wav : has a disturbing "wobble" noise

I'm surprised that these samples made it through the quality control. I'll probably re-configure instruments that use them.

Herb, can you perhaps set up a topic for reporting bugs and problems like the above?

    Regards - Colin
