  • Performance Set and GigaStudio

I'm a future VSL owner (definitely!). I was about to purchase GOS when I read and heard some of the incredible things this library can do. Simply amazing! I haven't gotten it yet because I'm waiting for the pro version. Two questions though: I've read elsewhere on the forum that the reason why the pro edition isn't out because gigastudio 3.0 isn't out yet. Am I to believe that 2.5 doesn't support 24 bit files or is it the size of the library that is too much for giga? The other question: I'd like to know if you'd ever offer lets say, the strings' performance set separate from the rest of the perfomances? Or better yet, offer a strings only package that would include the strings' perfomance plus the strings. Thanx.

  • Our production status in a glance:

    - the recording for the Pro Edition is completed
    - editing will be finished in a few weeks
    - 70.000 new samples are already mapped and out for betatesting

We won't wait for further sample platform developments.
At the moment we have finished the Pro Edition, we will release it.

On our "Demos & Products" site you find informations which new instruments will be released in the Pro Edition.

We were able to finalize some more instruments for the Pro edition:
Alto flute and snare drum ensemble (4 players)

Instruments of the First Edition will be ehanced.
For rexample: the size of our string ensembles will be more than doubled.

We will post a detailed list of the upcoming playing styles and instruments soon on our website.

Sorry, we do not plan releasing seperate instrument sections for the performance set.

    best wishes

    Gerardo,
If you purchase now, I believe you can still get in on the VIP pricing i.e. if purchase the current library and upgrade to the Pro Edition later, the total cost is less than if you were to buy the Pro Edition without VIP.

  • [:)] having been around a few 24 hrs i try to avoid the hurry up and wait scenario - no one can give a good or reasonable date on the GS 3.0. and the VIP pricing is is a bonus. jump on board now! you won't regret it!
those other guys -(the ones that keep promissing demos in april)
play the hurry up and wait game too well so i got tired of waiting!

  • Thanks for the replies. I think I'm gonna go with buying the library now since I read the upgrade path option. I just wanna be clear on something. When we upgrade from the current library to the pro, are we gonna get supplemental material to go with the current library, or are we gonna get brand new 24 bit samples of everything(pretty much the complete new library)? Thanx.

  • hi geeclef,
you might have been following several discussions here and in other forums when GS 3.0 will be released with what capabilities ....

herb pointed out in another post, he is willing to put the pro-version out regardless if GS3 is there or not. this leads to the point: a 24-bit version would be useless for a GS2.5-user, but he would need it immediately when GS3 arrives, logic/EXS-users could instantly make use of 24-bit-samples.

a final decision how to overcome this trouble has not been passed, but be assured, you will end up beeing the owner of a full 24-bit version of the library - can you live with that (somehow cryptic) comment?
