I'm using Vienna Ensemble Pro Server (Rosetta) on my Mac Studio. Frequently I try to leave a Server Project open with a preserved instance for every instrument. This is so I can close my main project I'm working on and open smaller ones without having to wait to reload all the instances from my current song. Maybe 10-15 instances? I've noticed that frequently I will get an error from a Kontakt instance saying "One ore more Kontakt instances couldn't be recalled correctly" and when I open it it says it couldn't find some file and the GUI will be gone.
When this occurs, it seems to always be the same instance for that particular Server Project. In this case it's e-Instruments Desolate Guitars but it happened with other things before. Opening Kontakt it says something like it couldn't find the "Wallpaper" in my Documents/Native Instruments/Kontakt 7 - there is no file there and searching does nothing. I have to reinstall the library from Native Access to get it working again.
It seems from old posts (hard to say, the screenshots all give 404 errors now) this is perhaps an old Kontakt bug where it can't be open without being connected to a sequencer, but that doesn't seem to fix it. Unless once it's in this state it can't be fixed?
Anyone have any experience with this? I contacted VSL support but didn't hear back.
