  • MIR Pro Crash with iMac Pro (2017) and MacOs Monterey

    Hi -

MIR Pro crashes when I engage its stand-alone software program. Unfortunately, this prevents me from using MIR Pro with my sequencing programs. Interestingly, I can use MIR Pro within VEPro 7.

I recently upgraded the MacOs of my iMac Pro (2017) computer to Monterey. Might this be the cause?

Thank you for your time and attention to this problem.

    Kind Regards,

    Edward (Ted) Fiebke

Edited to Add: I'm uploading a .doc file of the Crash Report which I hope will help problem-solve this issue.

  • Hi Edward,

The software developers at VSL have just confirmed that a recent Mac OS update has affected MIR Pro compatibility to some degree. If I understand them correctly, pressing the spacebar when MIR is in focus is already enough to cause it to crash.

The bad thing is that there doesn't seem to be a quick fix for this problem. It's pathetic, I know.

Unfortunately, I don't have any better news at the moment ....

  • Google brought me here because I'm having the exact same problem on my brand spanking new Mac Studio. At least now I know "it's not me" (thank you, Dietz). If I keep the Mac Studio (I still have my old iMac), I sure hope we'll be able to keep using MIR Pro inside our DAWs (I'm not a VE guy) before long, because I paid a lot of bucks for it -- and it's worth every penny, if it works, even with the spacebar trap door.

  • I am also having problems with MIR PRO and Monterey...

    Sad Face
