  • [SOLVED] Help : VE 6.5.18926 won't start - same for VI and Synchron Player

    Hi all,

Since I updated VE to 6.5.18926, nothing works. VE won't even start, whatever in Cubase 10.5 or in standalone. The same goes for VI and Synchron Player latest versions. I have tried the previous versions (downloaded from archive) but it gives exactly the same result : no GUI at all, be it VE, VI or Synchron Player.

My OS is Windows 10 (up to date).

Is there a way to roll back to VE 6.0 and Synchron Player 1.1.1780 ?

    Regards,
    Michaël

  • Hi,

Still unable to launch VE 6.5.18926 and Synchron Player 1.1.1906. They just won't appear.
I have updated eLicenser with no luck. Windows 10 is up to date too.

Everything was working fine with VE 6.0 and Synchron Player 1.1.1780.

Someone to help me please ?

  • Hi,

    "They just won't appear."

My assumption is that you are referring to your sequencer, and if it's Cubase, please check if our plug-ins have been black-listed (Plug-in Manager). You can remove them from this blacklist safely.

  • Hi Paul,

    Thank you for replying.

I have tried different scenarios. Here is what happens :
    - Standalone mode : neither Vienna Ensemble/Vienna Instrument nor Synchron player will start. Nothing happens when I try to launch them (except a brief moment during which the HD seems to be active).
    - Plugin mode : Synchron Player appears and works normally when I load an instance in Cubase (10.5).
    - Plugin mode : when I load a VE instance in Cubase, its VST window shows up but it is unable to connect to VE Service (it sends me an error message "Could not connect to service") and the VE window won't appear.
    - Plugin mode : there is no VI in Cubase's plugin list (although it is present in Windows start menu and I can see its .exe file in the program folder).

It looks like VE service doesn't want to launch whatever the situation.

Please note I have also tried different HiDPI settings (Properties > Compatibility tab > Modify HiDPI settings) without success.

Do you have any idea ?

    Thanks for helping !

  • Hi Michael,

Something seems to blick VE from starting... any Anti-Virus software installed (freeware is the most likely blocker).

    Works like expected here.... weird.

  • Hi Paul,

There is no antivirus/firewall installed on my machine (except Windows firewall). So I tried to launch VE or VI in standalone after deactivating Windows firewall but it didn't work.

By th way, when I plug the eLicenser key out, I don't even get the usual message "no license found". Nothing happens at all.

There are no such problems reported on the forum so I guess I must be very isolated...

Is there a way to roll back to VE 6.0 (which was working great) ? Unless I try a full OS reinstall...

    Thank you for your help.

    Regards,
    Michaël

    Hello Michaël,

Strange situation. Older versions of our software are available in our Downloads Archive.

Let me know if that works!

    Paul

  • Hi Paul,

I found the solution quite incidentally : I created a brand new user account on my computer (ASUS N550 JV laptop) then tried to launch VE/VI and Synchron Player. Now here comes the magic : everything works as expected !

    That definitely puzzles me...

Thank you for your help anyway !

    Best,
    Michaël
