  • Mir Pro Room Pack Installation

    Hello -

Just a quick question - I've got a new computer and I'm installing all my software now in advance of switching my studio over to it. I looked through the blogs and manuals to find the answer to this question:

What is the optimal place to install the MIR Room Packs?

I've got a 2020 Mac Pro and several NVMe (Thunderbolt 3) drives for my Synchron, Vienna Instruments and additional sample content. I know it's possible to put the Room Packs where I like and then use MIR's preferences to establish their location.

I'm just wondering if there's a better place to store them in terms of performance. I've got room on my system drive. I've also got room on my sample drives. Either would work in terms of real estate.

    Thanks for your help!

  • Welcome to our forum, Mark!

MIR Pro itself isn't very picky when it comes to the RoomPacks' storage locations. All active IR date has to be kept in RAM anyway, there's no streaming involved. Still it might be a good idea to store RoomPacks on fast drives (SSDs or the like), especially when you do lots of adjustments on the Venue Map during setup.

    Enjoy MIR Pro!

    Alle the best,
