  • Altiverb /IR-1/Space Designer comparison

    Hi guys
I have been running the Pro edition Orch. Cube for some time, enough to recover "financially" and using Space Designer as a convolution engine.
Reading many of the posts I see many of you use Altiverb. I haven't come across Waves IR-1. Wonder why?
Anyway, considering the investment, how does Space Designer compare (or IR-1) to Space Designer in terms of:

1- Sound- realism, density, depht, quantity of samples etc.
2- Ease of use, flexibility, editing...
    3- CPU hunger, Ram consumption
    4- Value for price

Has anybody regreted so far spending the money? [*-)]

I think there are some very good reports about Waves. However, a lot of Mac users tend to use Altiverb - basically because it's one of the best sounding convolution reverbs on the market. There is a new edition that's just come out that also helps with the actual placement of instruments as opposed to just normal midi panning.

I have Space Designer - and hardly ever use it. In fact. I never use it to be honest, even though it's pretty good.

I assume you have Altiverb and use it instead? if so how many instances can you activate compared to Space Designer?
