MIR instrument profile for ensembles

Hi,

I'm building some ensembles, glueing together things like Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, or a group of high-pitched woodwinds, or low-pitched brass.

What's the best insturment profile to be chosen, for this kind of ensemble? A "general purpose" profile, to be then manually adpated to the positions and space taken on stage?

It should be easy, yes! :-) ... just be aware that the "official" way would be to create individual Icons for each instrument, though.

Dietz, understood. But in this particular case, I’m trying to create compact ensembles, to be used for a minmal sketching orchestra. Just a few blocks, to start immediately composing. But with more versatility than with your Smart Orchestra. I've yet to try, but I guess this simple miking by section could work well enough to give a sense of positioning on stage, without stealing time and resources when starting up. Paolo
