  • Sound does not come out of Vienna

Today I updated Vienna ensemble and instruments from version 5 to its latest version (6). The usual routing through Logic Pro X is "working" meaning that connection is successful and Vienna reads my midi (Seen in the keyboard below the assigned instrument. However, no sound comes out from the channel and its frustrating. Any help?

  • Hi David,

Are the patches loading (no red cells)? Which OS are you using?

    Screenshots will be helpful!

  • MacOS Sierra 10.12.6

    Logic Pro X 10.4

Apparently patches load without any problem.

  • Hi,

Odd. I'd start with uninstalling VI with the included UNINSTALLER, restart the computer and install the software again.

  • Hi,

Open the Directory Manager, select ALL folders and remove them, then add them again via drag and drop from your Finder.

  • Hi Paul,

    Still no luck. More suggestions?

    Thanks!

  • Hi,

You can try to clear you Audio Unit cache:

In the Finder, choose Go > Go to Folder from the menu.

Type ~/Library/Caches in the "Go to the folder" field.

Press the Go button. Remove the "com.apple.audiounits.cache" file. Remove the ~/Library/Caches/AudioUnitCache folder.

Hope that works now, otherwise I am indeed out of ideas.

    Best,
    Paul
