Is there a guide to reducing latency in a VE Pro Master/Slave configuration? ie. What settings to tweak, harware requirements etc.

I am trying to find out where the latency on my system is coming from. The latency on instruments hosted on my VE Pro slave is noticeably greater than those hosted within my DAW.

I would appreciate any suggestions.
