I'm just starting to explore the Altiverb with VSL but I have used the 5.1 IR's for post on a Indy film that I did the audio work for. Sounded great! I was using it alot for placing the actors in different spaces since the Sets did not have the acoustics that they were suppose to represent. Eveyone loved the results. Used DP with the MAS version of Alitverb witch is nice because DP sees the plugin as a 5.1 plug so it is pretty hassle free on the end. The center channel bleed gave the mix a great 360 surround.
As for Altiverb with VSL, (Logic stereo AU) I started out with Maarten's presets and modified from there. I'm still exploring the possibilities and comming up with some mixes that I'm very happy with. I found that was moving the stage positions back further then in the examples to get what I wanted so I'm reviewing it to see if I have missed anything from the originals. I guess I'm going to start to explore the EQ settings more to see if I can place the instruments in a cohesive mix since some still stand out then others.
