first, what i have:
I recently purchased Epic Horns. I also have the orchestral cube, first edition, with the DVD update installed. I do not have the performance set.
I run gigatstudio 160 v2.5 on a carillon built PC. I run Digital Performer on a mac with all the necessary midi peripherals to connect the two systems.
My midi controller is a Fatar SL 880.
second, what i've done:
I installed and registered Epic Horns and downloaded and installed and authorized the performance tool. I now have access to Repitition, Alternation, and Legato modes.
I routed the performance tool to recieve midi from my sequencer via a midi interface. and no problems. I routed the out of the performance tools midi matrix to the gigastudio port 1 input. Again, no problems.
next, I went in to the hardware settings of giga and disabled the input of port 1, which would have expected signal from my sequencer's midi interface (a suggestion i saw on a post here) Again, everything is routed correctly -- signal is leaving the outs as it should, and is entering the ins as expected.
third, what happens:
a) repitition mode.
flawless. I love it and wish I had bought this earlier.
b) alternation mode.
again, perfect. everything works beautifully.
c) legato.
i play a note phrase, and as my finger releases the last key, a low note on the keyboard triggers and holds for no apparent reason. I stop, click the offending note with the mouse on the giga screen, and the signal stops. I repeat the procedure, and it happens again. This time I ignore the low, sustained note, and keep playing. This time, i release the last note of my phrase, and another note triggers and holds -- this time a half step above the first one. now both are sustaining together. I repeat this procedure again, and another 1/2 step higher a new drone begins. Now I have a low C, C#, and D rumbling at the bottom of the FH range, and I click each of the notes to disable them.
This behavior is exhibited in Epic Horns, as well as in the performance legato patches I recieved as part of the orchestral cube, first edition update DVD.
I have tried to troubleshoot this myself, but no luck. I have searched the posts, and do not see what I am experiencing. I have read the manuals, and looked for the answer myself, but cannot see anything relavent.
Please help me solve this little problem -- i'm sure its simple enough.
thanks,
james
