I am brand new to VEPro and need some help getting VEPro instances from my slave PC to appear in the sequencer's plugin on my master PC. I've been scouring the web and the user manuals for hours without finding a solution that works.
Here's my setup:
Master PC
Running Windows 10 Pro, 64-bit
Gigabit LAN Connection via Cat5e to Slave PC (used soley for VEP):
- Static IP = 10.0.0.1
- Subnet Mask = 255.255.0.0
- Default Gateway = Blank
- DNS Serves = Blank
WIFI Connection (used for Internet and Remote Desktop of slave):
Auto-assigned from wireless router -- currently:
- IPv6 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 2600:1015:b003:ecd7:a1b6:4532:bf83:cf7f
- Temporary IPv6 Address. . . . . . : 2600:1015:b003:ecd7:69b0:58ad:32e2:3651
- Link-local IPv6 Address . . . . . : fe80::a1b6:4532:bf83:cf7f%9
- IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.9
- Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
- Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : fe80::82b:54ff:fece:8169%9 192.168.1.1
Slave PC
Running Windows 7 Pro, 64-bit
Gigabit LAN Connection via Cat5e to Master PC (used soley for VEP):
- Static IP = 10.0.0.2
- Subnet Mask = 255.255.0.0
- Default Gateway = Blank
- DNS Serves = Blank
WIFI Connection (used for Internet and Remote Desktop Control from Master PC):
Auto-assigned from wireless router -- currently:
- IPv6 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 2600:1015:b003:ecd7:8c00:1645:d5c9:643c
- Temporary IPv6 Address. . . . . . : 2600:1015:b003:ecd7:8d3b:8988:9a0e:3d2b
- Link-local IPv6 Address . . . . . : fe80::8c00:1645:d5c9:643c%13
- IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.3
- Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
- Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : fe80::82b:54ff:fece:8169%13 192.168.1.1
Here's what I've tried:
- Added Inbound Rules for Windows Firewall per VEPro6 manual (on both machines)
- "Advertise on local network" is checked in VEPro Preferences (on both machines)
- Ping successful for static LAN IP's (on both machines)
- Running VEPro6 Server 64-bit on both machines before firing up DAW on master pc
- Insert plugin instance of Vienna Ensemble Pro (VSL) 32-out on track in DAW
- Click "Connect" in plugin window in DAW
- Only localhost Server Instance appears, no instances from slave pc
- Close DAW and VEPro on both machines
- Disabled WIFI on both machines then attempted #4 thru #6 again -- same results.
- Changed static IP on Master/Slave LAN to 192.168.1.101/192.168.1.102 -- same results.
- Changed Subnet Mask on Master/Slave LAN to 255.255.255.0 for both -- same results.
Apart from VEPro, I have verified the computers can talk with eachother each time via the successful pings and Remote Desktop Control using the LAN connection instead of the WIFI.
I just can't get the slave instance to show up in plugin window inside the DAW, only the local instance on the master.
I've never used VEPro before, so I'm sure I've just made a rookie mistake and have overlooked something. Thanks in advance for any advice you can give!
Cheers,
Jeremey
