  • Problem Hybrid Reverb / Bounce offline Protools

    Hello

I had a bounce offline conflict since many years with Hybrid reverb (Vienna Suite) and Protools ; most of time I use Mir, Altiverb, MIRacle... and it's work perfectly ; but this time, I need Hybrid reverb. The problem is only with the bounce offline in VEP, absolutely not with a real time bounce, or with an Hybrid reverd directly in Protools. But if possible, I don't whant to change my work configuration, and bounce offline is very pratical !

I work with Protool 11.3.1, the latest version of VEP5, Mac OS 10.9.5 and the latest version of vienna suite, the problem is :

When I listen an offline bounce (Mp3, Wav, or Aiff...) with an Hybrid reverb in VEP, the result is only crack and noise. I think I try everythings : change latency of Hybrid reverb, Protools, the number of threads in VEP... I had made a test with VEP 6 and the problem still the same !

    If you had an idea...

    Thank's

  • Hello Macgort,

sorry to hear about your problems.

Please send a test project that allows to reproduce this issue to support@vsl.co.at , including as many technical deatails as possible (reproduction steps, OS, CPU, DAW, plug-in host, audio system & driver versions, latency settings etc.). VSL support team will take care for it.

    Thanks for taking the trouble.

    Kind regards,

  • Ok, it's done, I just send a test project with all deatails.

    To be continued...

  • I am experiencing this problem as well.  The VSL Hybrid reverb will not offline bounce in Pro Tools without distorting and garbling the audio.   I did a painstaking process of elimination to find this plug-in to be the problem with offline bouncing of mixes.  Real time bouncing is fine.

I am running Pro Tools 12.7.1 on 10.ll.6 El Capitan.  I am using a HD license driver to enable functionality with my legacy Avid 192 I/O.

Mac Pro 5,1 64GB RAM, 2x2.93 Ghz 6 core Intel Xeon

Pro Tools HDX hardware, buffer size: 256, Dynamic Plug-in processing is Enabled, Disk playback cache size = normal

Latency on reverb plug is 512.

I am mixing and mastering 3 tracks of stereo audio to a master track.  The master track contains many plugs but I can confirm all work OK for offline bouncing in any combination except when VSL Hybrid is in the plug-in chain.

This should be easy to confirm on your end if you perform an offline bounce of PT audio both with and without VSL Hybrid inserted straight-line on the Master fader.  (I am not using a normal buss/aux return configuration). Offline bouncing is important to my workflow, and I would hate to lose functionality of the Hybrid Reverb (it is an outstanding reverb) so I would appreciate it if you could look into this problem.  Thank you from Ray Lyon.

  • Sorry to hear that you're experiencing problems, Ray. I already asked VSL's developers to look into it.

Just to avoid misunderstandings: Are you using "legacy" Vienna Suite or Vienna Suite Pro?

    Kind regards,

  • I am using Vienna Suite 1.5 (2049) for all of my VSL plug-ins.  It is just the Hybrid Reverb (and presumably Convolution Reverb as well) that garbles the audio on offline bounce.  Thank you.

  • Thanks for the info. VSL software engineers are already aware of the issue.

  • Thank's, still waiting for the issue too...
