  • Classical guitar: controlling which string plays the notes

    Hello all.

I purchased the Classical guitar and while I am very pleased with the sound I am having a hard time making it 'behave' like a guitar at times. Let's say I want to play a unison for example both E4 on the 1st string (open) and on the the 2nd string on the 5th fret which is not so uncommon. How could I achieve that? Is there also a way to keep notes on a string? It seems that they went to a lot of trouble to record many chords but somehow there is no way to choose which string plays which note or I can't figure it out.

Or like on the picture, on the second bar plucking the G on two different strings.

I am not talking about legato (which hopefully keeps the 'ligado' notes on the same string as real players will do)

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Javier
