  • Installation of Chamber Strings 1...

I've just purchased, downloaded and (seemingly) installed Chamber Strings 1 into my Macbook Pro, but now cannot find any way to play/access the library! I'm wanting to use it within Mainstage. Hoping someone here can help me get up and running.

So to elaborate a little: After the download was complete, I clicked on install etc. and the files were then seemingly installed into my chosen folder (which was my 'user' folder). I can now see the VSL folder, and by the size of it (30GB rather than the 16GB or so that was downloaded) the files have been decompressed.

Don't know if it's relevant but when I attempted to close the installer (after the installation process was showing as completed), a message appeared saying something to the effect of "You have files waiting to install. Do you wish to install these or quit". I clicked 'install' but nothing happened. Tried again, same thing. So I then DID click 'quit'!

Now normally within Mainstage I would of course go to the 'input' box in a channel strip, and select the desired instrument for that channel. I can see the usual Mainstage instruments here as well as Kontact but no sign of VSL Chamber Strings. Where do I go from here?!

  • You need to download and install the Vienna Player, VI. You'll find it in your user area.
