    Hello,

    I have just begun to use Vienna Instruments and Vienna Instruments Pro.  I'm able to successfully load individual patches into cells and play them in Vienna Instruments and Vienna Instruments Pro.

    However, what is not clear to me is how to load and set up multiple patches so that they play at the same time.  Let's say I load one violin patch and I want to play it at the same time as a viola patch.  In other words, I want to play them simultaneously.  How do you accomplish that?  What has to be done?

    Please advise how to do that.

    Switch to the "advanced" view of the Vienna Instruments player and select a cell. Look for the area on the right side where you see the name of the patch you loaded. This patch is seated in the slot 1a, but as you can see, there are more slots available - 1b, 2a, 2b, 3a, etc.

    When you load another patch into the slot 2a, it will play simultaneously with the patch in slot 1a whenever the cell is triggered. You can also load patches in the a and b slots and use slot crossfade to smoothly transition from one patch into the other.

    Actually, I find it easier to do this through MIDI routing methods.

    Assuming that you're using the host VEPro, load your violin instrument then your viola.  Set the MIDI routing to "OMNI" on both tracks (violins and violas) and the master.  Then, in your sequencer, route your MIDI track to VEP with "OMNI" selected for "track" (It might say MIDI Omni or something like that).

    Whatever is written in the MIDI track of your sequencer will trigger both the Violin and Viola to play simultaneously.  Just make sure you're loading the same articualtions in the same cells for both instruments.
