I have Solo Strings I Standard Library I just bought and of coarse I plan to get the Extended Library ASAP. I have 8 gigs of RAM at present ( Windows 7 Pro 64bit), and I would like to know if that will be sufficient to load 1 instance each of the 4 instruments plus Expression Maps when I have the complete library available to me. At present I do not use VE. I use Cubase 5's mixer.

Solo Strings and RAM

Hi Classicalfan,
You should be fine with 8 GB of RAM and the Standard Library presets.
If you are using SSD drives, you should consider VI PRO as an additional purchase, this way you can speed up your loading time up to 10 times while using only 1/10th of your RAM, with better streaming performance and many other features.
Best,
Paul

Paul, what I need to know is if 8 gigs will be enough for the Standard plus the Extended Library and Expression Maps.

Hi Classicalfan,
I see, thanks for the clarification. You will definitely be fine with SSD drives and VI PRO, but if you want to load the big full library presets of Solo Strings I FULL Library (which is not necessary usually), it will get very tight with 8 GB. This also depends on your workflow.
I have just sent you a demo license for the EXTENDED Library so you can check out how it works.
These demo licenses work for 30 days/30 starts.
Once the 30 starts are used up, you can recharge them as often as you like by clicking "Maintenance" in the eLicenser Control Center (within 30 days).Best,
Paul
