There are 100 samples per key. How they are mapped in MIDI space?
1..100 or 27...127 or 1...127 MIDI velocity note-on?

Hello Paul,
I've tried many pianos software but nobody competes with Vienna Imperial to the tonal richness.
Yamaha Disklavier uses a 10-bit (1024) MIDI resolution. The technical specifications of Boesendorfer (now Yamaha) http://www.boesendorfer.com/en/ceus-reproducing-system/technical-data does not explicitly indicate the MIDI resolution but I think it is more than 1024.
The Herb sampling is based on psychoacoustic response of the listener. This means that (up to) 100 samples are a subset of 1024 (or 2048) and are more frequent in the central area, I think.
Also Vienna Imperial with MIR has a sound so natural that it seems almost real. The Vienna Imperial reverberations are only a starting point.
(For better usability perhaps the only aspect to improve is the half-pedal or even better a continuous pedal via DSP. Otherwise you need to use reverberated acoustics to emulate a "eternal half-pedal".)
Great for classical piano!
