    Hi

    I have been using VSL for many years, but today is the first time I have seen this:

    I loaded a VIPro into VEPro 5, I wanted to create a solo cello. So i turned to the Matrix page to load the matrix: VC 01_basic. Certainly sounded like a solo cello, BUT the legato didn't work as expected.

    So I created another instrument but this time I loaded a Preset named 01 VC Preset VIPRO. This preset contains 11 matrix'es the first one is the same: VC 01_basic, but now the legato worked!

    Does this means that you can't settle for the matrix alone, you have to load the Preset and then delete the matix'es you don't want, otherwise you will miss some parameteres?

    Some settings are saved in the preset files. This is the case for the Master Settings wich affects every matrix inside a preset. If you load a matrix and the legato does'nt work as expected, just go in Advanced view/Options/ under master settings there is Interval Mode (poly or mono).

    The controller map and reverb settings are also saved at the preset level because it affects all the matrix.

     

    You may want to save an empty template with the settings you want and import the matrix inside this template.

    Thanks a lot. I found the mono/poly setting and it gave me the legato mode. I just wondered if there was other settings that was affected aswell.

    By the way do you know if the reverb on/off controller in the controller page refers to Bypass?

    Hmm... That's a good question.

     

    If I were to make a guess I would say no.  I think when you turn the reverb off you are actually turning it off not bypassing it because bypassing it would still be drawing CPU resources wouldn't it?

    One way you could check is to load something up, play it with the reverb on and watch the CPU meter.  Then turn it off and see what the CPU meter does.

    Legato works in polyphonic mode as well.
