  • EWQL Play 4.2.2 stops working in VE Pro 5.3.13407 Cubase 7.5 Win 8.1

I have been using VE Pro without any problems, except that Play goes silent after a few minutes. It is still receiving MIDI, as I can see the keys responding to messages.

If I minimise the VEPro window, or attend to other things on my computer, Play is usually silent when I return. If Play has been muted, or another instrument soloed, subsequent unmuting/soloing Play sometimes doesn't work.

If I reload the instrument within Play it starts working again.

I updated VE Pro today to the newest build, but I never tried PLAY in the previous version.

Preserving and closing the instance and restarting Cubase doesn't make any difference. Everything seems to load, but there is no sound until I

    reload the instrument.

I loaded Kontakt to see if I could duplicate the problem, but it worked perfectly well, and VI Pro always works flawlessly.

    Thanks

    John

What did Eastwest have to say about the problems?

  • Nothing so far. I have no problem running Play except in VE Pro.

  • I'm now having a problem with Kontakt. I have all instruments set to receive on all channels, but midi does not appear to be sent to Kontakt, but if I clock on the virtual keys I get sound.

Edit: Ok, I've switched to Reaper, and now one of my Kontakt instances has frozen.
