  • Event input problem

    Hi everyone !

I guess i'm not the only nor the first one with this problem, but since this there doesn't seem to be any search bar on this forum...

I'm trying to set up my dimension strings into cubase so I have at the same time one track per instrument AND some "bundle" tracks with 4, 8, 16 violins...

Since Cubase doesn't seem to be able to send midi to more than 5 tracks, i decided to use bidule to tweak the midi, and then event input to send it back to the corresponding vienna instances.

If i only use one event input, it works. But as soon as I use two event input on the same instance (sending midi on a different midi port) I get tons of hanging notes, "forgotten notes".

I can reproduce the problem without bidule, so I know it must come from the event input plugin.

    Thx !

  • Is it possible that you could explain in more detail how things are set-up, because there may be a way round all of this by using instance of VE set up in a certain way.

  • Thx for taking the time to answer !

Well, basically, I do one instance per "instrument family" : strings, woodwinds, brass...

Since I don't want to duplicate my strings, i only use vipro with one dimension violin inside. When i want to play them all, i'd like to be able to "play them all", not play another track with another dimension violins loaded. I know it wouldn't duplicate the samples in the ram, but still, I would have twice as much settings to do... and if I try to add a8 a8 on top of my full a16 track...

So basically, that's what I try to accomplish. Having one track per violin and then some "extra tracks" sending midi to more than one of those violins (actually, more than 5, since it's Cubase midi sends limit...). But since cubase can't send midi to 16 tracks at the same time (selecting multiple tracks is not an option because once you've recorded and want to tweak something, you have to do it 16 times, since I can't find a proper way to edit muliple CCs at the same time ...
