  • VEP 5 and MIR Routing

Is it possible to run two instances of VEP 5 and route them through the same room in MIR? I ask because I want to have all of my instumetns on the same stage and in my situation it's not possible to use Event Input to put them all in the same instance of VEP 5.

  • Yes, I do it all the time in Sonar as well. Not uncommon to use a 1 for strings, 1 for brass, perc, and even other stuff like accoustic. Sometimes i bounce each 1 seperately for automating in sonar. 1st violins, seconds, violas , cellos, bass's etc.  other times I just bounce the groups.  Either freeze, or bounce to track.  If you bounce to track, disconnect the synth when you're done to free up resources. Happy orchestrating!

  • Thanks for the response. I understand that I can use multiple instances of VEP 5 for different sections and freeze them separately. Right now I route all of the channels in the first instance into MIR so that I can place each instrument into it's proper "space" in MIR. What I want to do is route the instruments from the second instance of VEP into MIR containing the instruments of the first instance. This way I can place all of the instruments in their proper space in MIR. Is this possible? If so, how?

  • Don't worry about routing the second instance back in.  Simply choose the same room and mic position for each instance, and try not to place instruments where you've already placed them, unless that's the sound you need.

  • Thanks! I'll give it a try.
