Is there a way to copy all the articulations of Player 1 to the same ones for Player 2, 3, etc. so that you end up with the same custom instrument preset but with the different player?

Yes, there is one. With VI PRO standalone version you can use the hotkey

Ctrl + Alt + W

you will get a dialogbox where you can exchange patches which have similar patch names.

For example replacing "VI-P1" with "VI-P2" will exchange all patches loaded within a loaded Preset from Player 1 to Pplayer 2.

You  have also the option to keep all your customised mapping settings when unchecking the "Clear all" check box.
