I have run into a few issues with Mavericks and Vienna Ensemble Pro 5.
The networking problem isn't really related to VE Pro5 except that it has to be corrected, at least using Macs, to use the servers. You need to select the Network pane in Mavericks System Preferences and select Ethernet. Then click on the advanced button. Next to Configure IP6 you pull down Link-Local only and click the OK button. Then you click the Apply button and restart your Macs. You should now have a green connection and not an amber connection and the servers will now connect from the slave to the master computer.
The second issue has to do with screen sharing using Apple's Target Dispaly Mode as I am sharing my iMac's screen with my Mac Mini. After you load the VE Pro plugin into your sequencer and get a connection and then return the dispaly to the slave computer the instance window may very likely be in the upper left corner of the screen and not draggable. Changing the screen resolution and then back again in the Displays pane in System Preferences will bring the instance window back into the master's display. A way to prevent this form ocurring again is to minimize the instance windows and maximize them when needed.
