  • Multi Dimensional BEETHOVEN

Here is a MIR mix of Beethoven's Fifth 1st movement using Dimension Violins and Cellos, as well as Dimension Brass.

Philippe Baylac and I are attempting to do the entire Beethoven Fifth with Dimension instruments.  Not too easy!  Though the VE interace makes things as easy as can be, nevetheless I am dreading the last movement.  I wil maybe wait until the D Violas and Basses to recuperate.  I need it after the 1st movement.

However, I am posting this to get some reaction to the MIDI, mix etc.  This is the single greatest musical composition in the history of the world so it is a challenge.  But also very inspiring.  Beethoven's string writing (not a new observation I know) is simply awesome and never has been matched by anyone.

  • wow.. i am mightily impressed.. very good job!

  • Great sequencing! I enjoyed listening. If you accept the criticism, I'd like to point out this quiet part at approximately 2:20, it always gives me the thrills when I hear it. Somehow the balance of the instruments there doesn't feel right. The higher strings don't create the suspense they should. Hopefully, this makes sense to you. Again, I applaud your (I imagine, rather big) work.

  • Very impressive both interms of the programing - hate that phrase in this context! and the quality of the tools.

Can't wait for the complete DS and of course the complete 5th.

Also thanks for posting the midi file and viframe - really useful for study purposes.

    Kanon

  •  greystorm and Kanon, thanks!  Crusoe thanks and I'll listen to that section - I agree it is a wonderful section of the composition.  This is not the final product so it is great to hear ideas about the performance.
