    I recently installed a 480GB OWC Mercury Accelslor PCI SSD. It's used as a Startup Drive & has spoiled me with it's speed - Starts up my 12 Core  2010 Mac Pro w. 16GB RAM in 20 seconds. Right now I have my VSL (& other) sample libraries on 2 500GB SATA Drives. For large (orchestral) projects the load time is pretty long. I'm thinking of replacing them with SSD drives (though not more PCI versions, as my PCI slots are full). 

    Can anyone offer any advice on how to configure a pair of SSDs for maximum speed? I'd be interested to know what sort of speed increase (sample loading times) I might expect from such a replacement.

    there are two solutions :

    1) Put your VSL lib on the OWC and put the system on a ssd in the Sata port that is under the DVD player, put the other lib on a ssd replacing a sata HD

    2) You can replace your two sata HD with two ssd and create a Raid 0 with them (to be sure it is better you can run Xbench to check it before creating the raid 0)
