  • Major Problems: Vienna Imperial and MIR SE: How to Fix?

I am having major problems with the Vienna Imperial and MIR SE, and am at a loss how to resolve them.

I can open the Vienna Imperial stand alone without issue - the DVD version just purchased: 1.1.631.  The content folder does show up when using the directory manager.

However, I cannot open any of the sound files within MIR SE.  No patches for the Imperial are even listed, nor are any of the Imperial patches listed if I open up VI Pro 4/VE Pro 4.

For how I intend to use the piano, I have to be able to open the Imperial within MIR SE.  The new MIR Pro is not an option at this point (don't have the computer power to really run the full version), nor will the forthcoming MIR 24 (I need all 32 channels of MIR SE).

Do I need to download the older version of the Imperial: 1.0.538?  Will 1.0.538 run within MIR SE?  Will the new DVD Imperial samples work under 1.0.538?  How do I proceed?

Note that all my other VSL libraries are working fine in my existing setup.  Unfortunately, I am currently DOA until this issue is resolved.

Thanks in advance for your help/suggestions.

<edit>  As part of the process, I did make sure to do the necessary rescan using the Directory Manager.

  • Sorry for the troubles. I informed VSL support already - they will look into it ASAP.

    Kind regards,

  • Hi,

maybe I have the same problem. Since updating the Imperial it doesn´t show up anymore in Mir Pro. What a mess - in older projects it´s loading but it doesen´t show up anymore when I try to load a new one

    Kind regards

    Alfred

  • Alfred, don't know if this could be a work-around in your situation, but it might be worth a try:

Since the Imperial loads in your older projects, perhaps you could do a "save as" with a project that loads the Imperial when starting a new project, keep the Imperial in the new project, but delete all the other instruments and replace with the instruments the new project requires.

  • Thanks for your help - but shame on me: my Imperial wasn´t updated. Sorry, but I really thought that I had checked everything.

  • Update: spent a long time with tech support of the company that built the computer.  Through trial and error, things are fixed, and working.

    The process:

    1) I realized I was not on the final version of MIR SE, but the build before, along with the next to last version of VI Pro.  I updated to the current versions.

    2) Somehow doing that caused MIR SE to lose connection with VI Pro, and MIR SE could only find the original default VI.  I could not even open any of my existing templates.  At that point I contacted tech support of the computer company (they were very helpful).

    3) Plugins were also scattered, so they were reorganized.  But even after that, MIR SE would not recognize VI Pro.

    4) We then uninstalled and reinstalled VI Pro.  MIR SE would still not recognize it.  We also reinstalled the Imperial.

    5) After more trial and error, we uninstalled and reinstalled MIR SE and rebuilt MIR SE.  After that, things worked.

The good news is that things are now sorted.

  • We could reproduce problems with Vienna Imperial and Vienna MIR SE (Build 1860). Thanks for reporting, and sorry again for the inconvenience.

Our developers will look into this ASAP.

    Kind regards,

  • Dietz, in returning to this thread, one other step I forgot to mention was we reinstalled the Vienna Imperial as well.  Note that the Imperial was installed each time using the latest one from your website, not the one on the CD.

As all of this involved preliminaries to using the Imperial within MIR SE, I have not yet really fully used the Imperial within MIR SE.  Should other issues develop, I will let you know.

I've PM'd you regarding one possible suggestion.
