Using Percussion/Elements in Sibelius

I'm considering purchasing the Percussion/Elements bundle, and I was wondering how easily the instruments can be used within Sibelius (6). Can the different articulations be triggered with musical notation within Sibelius, or would I have to plan on using a lot of key switches, etc.? The "Optimizing Sibelius Playback" guide is a bit vague with regard to VE Percussion, and there's no mention of the Elements. If anyone has any experience using these collections with Sibelius, I would greatly appreciate any impressions you could share in this department.

Hello Brian!

The sound set we made for the Percussion library is pretty comprehensive. The articulations can be triggered by musical notation. You don't have to create MIDI commands to switch articulations. A detailed manual on how to trigger the various sounds comes with the "VE Percussion" sound set.
Sorry to say that there is no sound set for the Elements collection.

In general, do you have any suggestions for what would be the easiest way to trigger the various articulations for VSL instruments that do not have sound sets in Sibelius (eg, Elements, Upright Bass, etc.)? I write quite a bit of music for the upright bass, but it is exhausting to tweek each note via MIDI commands.

Hello Brian!

You can find how to use collections without a sound set in the "Optimizing Sibelius Playback" manual on page 18.
For percussive patches (like some of the Elements patches) you will find a useful hint in the manual on page 8 (last paragraph). You will have to load the Special Edition or Special Edition PLUS sound set for that.
