  • Individual tracks for all instruments

I'm using Cubase 5 and the special edition. I can't figure out how to get multiple tracks with individual instruments on them. I suppose that I need to start the Vienna Ensemble VST. Then add instruments there, but how do I get them to individual tracks in cubase? Right now, all the instruments are gathered into one single track all playing the same note. This might be obvious but I can't figure it out. Thanks in advance!

  •  So easiest way is just to open a new instrument track (per instrument) and configure the VI Player there should be straight forward. Just click on the Configure Instrument Button "the arrow pointing to the square with vertical lines"

  • If you are using Vienna Ensemble then you certainly don't wan tot be using Instrument tracks.

    1. Load Vienna Ensemble in the VSTi rack
    2. Create a MIDI track
    3. Route it to Vienna Ensemble
    4. Now if you create a bunch of MIDI tracks they should automatically connect to VE and on consecutive MIDI channel numbers

Remember if you want multiple outputs from VE you have to enable them by clicking the little black triangle thingy in the VSTi rack in Cubase.

  • Yeah 100% agree with this, however question is if you really need Vienna Ensemble ;)
