  • Converting Project to ViPro - not quite right

If you convert a project to ViPro, the previous legato settings are not retained.

I know this is a "feature", but we must manually disable polyphonic intervals if our work is to sound the same after conversion.

Could this please be addressed in an update? It is really rather like a bug IMHO.

    Thanks!

  • Unfortunately it's not a bug. It's a planned feature, and thus won't be changed by the VSL team.

  • Hmm. Effectively this means that VI Pro is not backwards compatible with our existing projects.

I for one would like to request that the polyphonic "policy" of VI PRo be a user definable option, at least when converting old projects. It's a no brainer really.

Imagine for example, Pro Tools bringing out a new version of their software whereby previously saved projects had to be methodically tweaked to run correctly. It's quite odd I feel.

    Thanks

  • I think it makes sense to add this as an option, defaulting to setting all ViPro instances - converted from VI - to mono legato mode. I'll make it so.

  • Martin, whilst we're at it, it also makes sense for old VI Presets to open without change, whereas currently some things have to be re-done.

  • Hi DG,

I´m sure it would help if you could point out "some things", just to be sure that you get what you want [;)]

  • That is fantastic news! This is the sort of feedback and response that makes for a great software company.

    Thanks Martin!

Er, I did, right at the start and was shouted down. [:(]

  • Hi,

I thought you meant there were more things to be adapted in a better way apart from the polyphonic legato..... or am I missing something?

    Paul

Paul, I'll dig out my list when I get home. I'm typing this from a Polish hotel room, so it won't be for a few days yet. [;)]
