VE PRO not finding slave.
Ok, so I double checked the firewall settings on both computers. Both computers are connected to the same Gigabit switch. I can send files back and forth, and the slave is recognized in the windows explorer. The server interface wont find the slave, only my local host instances. The slave is on Vista 64, and my host is W7 64. I'm viewing the slave via windows RDP. Any ideas?

I have exactly the same problem. The subnet mask is on both boxes the same and a restart doesn't solve the problem. When I open an old project that was connected to the slave once before everything works like a charm but there's no chance within a new project. I just see my local server instance and not the slave. I guess it can't have to do something with my firewall settings because they're both off. Any ideas?

Found the problem...and it was the firewall. I have no idea why but it seems that the rules you defined for a programm have some influence also when the firewall is turned off. In my case the rules where set to work for home/trusted networks but not for public. I don't know why it ever worked because I guess my lan connection was always set to public because it seems that manually configured lan connections (without dhcp) in win 7 are always public and you can't set it to private/trusted or whatever. Anyway, now it works and everything is good :-)
