Shortcut to assigning patches?

I'm having a problem with articulations, which seemed to work sometimes in the past but often they don't.
Basically, I downloaded the HP preferences for Finale, which has stuff like D0 for sustained, D#0 for legato, etc.
Sometimes this worked, but then I was noticing it wasn't working, with the result that everything is staccato.
What I realized was that if I load a matrix, all the patches are C0. So presumably, I have to change each one individually to get it to match the keystrokes that will activate each articulation.
Once I do that, it works, but that's quite a pain to set that for every articulation in every instrument
So then I thought maybe I should load the preset, even though I don't like that because it uses memory for instruments I may not be using.
But when I loaded the preset, then each patch is E7. So I would still have to go through manually and change each one.
Surely there must be an easier way that I'm overlooking?

Hello Jonathan!

The Finale Human Playback Preferences for the Special Edition are prepared to work with the matrices, that come with the Special Edition. There's no use in loading the presets.

Please make sure, that you have the HPP for the Special Edition active in the HP menu. There's no need to set anything manually then.

I realize what I did wrong...I had forgotten to make the staff name or MIDI-choice match the instrument name that one night. Sometimes I have had problems with certain instruments like guitar even if they seem to be named right, but I'll check it next time I use one of those instruments.

Sorry to say, that currently we only offer HPP for the Special Edition and not for our other collections.

The Finale Human Playback system has a bug, which prevents us from making such settings for our bigger collections. The Special Edition is not affected by this bug. MakeMusic is aware of this and promised to solve the problem in one of the next Finale updates.
