VE Pro Freezes at a try to play in Logic 9
Hey guys, my first post here, I wasn't been able to find an answer for this so far, neither the update seem to fix it. So the issue is when I have the project, and sometimes try to start playing it everything suddenly stops and I get the endless spinning loading icon for Logic, but once I force quit ve pro, logic immediately starts playing. Thing is I've got quite some files loaded on ve pro, but 5gb out of 8gb ram free, Host is Mac Book Pro 2.5Ghz, 4gb Ram. Slave is Mac Mini Server 2.66Ghz 8gb Ram, and SSD. Any suggestions?

Hello,
It's my first post since many months, so hi again to everybody. I appreciate the quality of the discussions here.
I do have the exact same issue on my rig with Logic Pro 9.1.3... And it also happens after having done some editing in Logic (stopped) and wanting to playback again. I don't always see CPU spikes at these moments. My VE Pro server (32-bit) is currently running mainly East West PLAY instances (with Symphonic Orchestra, StormDrum 2), one Kontakt 4 instance (with Tonehammer Requiem light), two Vienna Instruments Pro instances, Stylus RMX and Omnisphere.
Would Mac OS X 10.6.6 would resolve this issue ? My firewall is deactivated and no utilities or app helpers are running in the background. No cracked software. I tried to change the VEP server interface plugin buffer size (latency). No changes. At last, iStat menu RAM gauge and VEP CPU usage are ok.
Thanks for helping out !

You are not alone. I get intermittent freezes like this all the time. Running Omnisphere and Kontakt 4.1.3 on VEPRO 64-bit with logic 9.1.3 (32 bit). I thought this was a known problem. Using a Mac Pro 12-core. When it happens, it looks like one of the processors goes into the red which locks up VePro (spinning beachball)for 5-10 seconds.

I am operating with all instances decoupled and I still get these VE PRO "lockups" every few minutes, even when there is hardly anything going on - as little a a single note streaming.

OK,
Sorry for the delay... I worked on another cue, this time without using Kontakt on VE Pro : all the issues disappeared !
I used Omnisphere, Trilian and Stylus RMX. No need to Decouple VE Pro. So, the issue seems to be related to Kontakt. And I use only fixed IPs.
Karel, any hope to see a fix from you or Native Instruments ? Collaboration between companies being not always easy...
I will come back as soon as I get more info about that subject.
Thanks again
