  • Single instrument per instance offer any benefits?

Does anyone one use a single VEP instance per INSTRUMENT? Does this offer any benefits in terms of CPU load, network distribution, and/or hard disk efficiency? Never mind the fact that you'd have to connect a hundred times....just curious.

  • That's how I generally use it, mainly because this is how you have to do it if in Cubase you want to use Instrument Tracks, which in turn is very useful from the point of view of being able to quickly freeze one track without affecting others, keeping automation tidy, and also when doing fast batch exports of tracks for clients at the end of a project (it enables you export everything in a very quick and tidy way).

I don't see much cpu benefit. In fact, each instance added take up quite a bit of extra memory in the host process, as well as using extra audio tracks. Therefore it's more resource efficient to have multiple instruments in one instance of VE-Pro, I RECKON.
