  • Prelistening PluginSound - Cubase, Mac, VE Pro

Hi, I'm just testing VE Pro on my MacPro 8core with Cubase 5.5. I have one basic Problem - I hope I just missed a simple thing. I insert VE Pro in Cubase as an Instrument in the instruments rack, connect via Server and load an instrument e.g. Omnisphere. Then I want to search for a sound that fits my needs. Usually I load a sound, play a little bit on the keyboard, load another etc. If I found a Sound, I want to work with, I begin tweaking it. always playing on the keyboard and listening to the changes I'm doing in the instruments GUI. In case of loading the instrument in VE Pro I cannot hear the sound while the instruments interface is on top; that means I have to switch back to the miditrack in the arrange-window to get the keyboard trigger the instrument and to hear the results. Even klicking the virtual keyboard with the mouse (e.g. in Kontakt) does not result in a sound. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance for your help. Christian

  • It sounds as if you have "Release audio driver when Cubase is in the background" checked (I can't remember the exact wording) in the Devices menu in Cubase.

  • Yippieayeh! Thank you very much. One little klick and everything is fine. Now it works as it should and the performance is really cool. Christian
