    I haven't found any explanation anywhere as to what actual data is saved in a VI Pro PRESET, are the Matrices stored in a preset or is it just a pointer to the Matrix files that are stored? I initially assumed that the Preset just saved the pointer to the Matrix files, but as a Preset saves matrix data that has no saved matrix file, it now looks like the Preset contains preset and matrix data. So, if a Preset used a particular matrix file, and I later edit the Matrix file, will that upset the Preset file? And I guess the same confusion surrounds the VI Ensemble Project (VIframe file), does that store Preset and matrix data, or again is it the pointers to preset/matrix files? Hope that all makes sense, I couldn't find in any of the manuals the architecture of the saved files, and I'm not going to question metaframes at this point.....

    Hi andyjh,

    a preset saves all data, no pointers to matrices. The same is true for the *.viframe file.

     Hi Andy,

    everything is saved within a VI PRO preset file, including dedicated changes in matrix files.

    If you make any changes in a dedicated matrix file in different VI PRO instances, these changes will not affect other VI PRO presets using the same source matrix. If you want permanent changes in a dedicated matrixfiles, you have to save this matrixfile and reload this new one in all VI PRO presets you need it.

    This behaviour helps a lot not to mess up older projects which are initially based on identical matrixfiles, which were adjusted individually during your work on dedicated projects.

    This is a very good question.

    I have the same question for a Logic song using VE PRO SERVER, what VSL data are stored in the song ?

    I have change all the VE PRO of my VE PRO SERVER so so they use VI PRO instead of VI ; this f.... did not use it and load the VI instead
