  • Unable to Load Custom Matrices VE PRO 7384 -- Memory Error Message

I've just upgraded to build 7384 on a slave computer. When I launch VE Pro Server, I am able to load individual patches into a matrix, but I can't load any of my old custom matrices. The matrix seems like it's loading but it never finishes. If I check Task Manager/Performance for my RAM, I see that the RAM is continually going up slowly, never stopping until I close VE PRO.

I also get this memory error message:

"The instructions at "0x40685ea" referenced memory at "0x0000003e". The memory could not be "read". Click OK to terminate the program."

I am able to load the standard matrices that come with VE Pro, however, just not my custom ones.

Does anyone know what's going on here? Seems like something simple, but I don't know where to start.

    Thanks,
    Mahlon

  • Could you please send one of these matrix files to support@vsl.co.at and note that it is for me. I will have a look.

    Cheers,

  •  Thanks. I'll send it soon.

  •  Hmmmm. I wonder... I reinstalled 4708 and at first I thought everything was working right and back to normal. But then, it also happened with that version. What's more, the one of the matrices which wouldn't load before loaded in 4708, but the next matrix didn't. Odd.

Now, I have recently installed new RAM in this system -- 24 gigs of DDR3 running at 1066. Unfortunately, I installed the RAM at the same time I updated VE Pro. But I don't think the RAM would be the problem. Seems more likely something with the updated VE Pro and the eLicencer.

    I'm at a loss....

  •  Ok. More progress.

If I load a saved Project (which uses the matrix), it loads fine and the matrices load and play -- no RAM weirdness.

Would this lead me to believe that somehow my original matrices are corrupted? But then why would they load correctly by a previously saved Project? Doesn't the Project just point to where the matrix is to load it? Can't understand why the Project would load the matrix, but I can't load it individually by hand.

Anyway, just thinking out load, in case anyone has some input.

p.s. I reinstalled 7384 (since 4780 had not worked either; so the version didn't seem to be the problem).
