Viola Harmonic gliss notation question

I was wondering how exactly one would notate the harmonic gliss that is made in the 

Viola Solo Strings:

> -VA_harm-nat_gliss the note pressed is the A5. I'm confused by the natural
> harmonic title....does this sound start on an open string? Then move into a

Welcome to the forum.
Yes, the samples in the harm-nat_gliss patches of the Solo Strings start on open strings and then move into a gliss harmonic.
The Viola harmonic glissandi mapped in the octave C3-B3 are played on the C string.
The ones in the octave C4-B4 are played on the G string.
The ones in the octave C5-B5 are played on the D string.
The ones in the octave C6-B6 are played on the A string.

So does this mean that it is just one finger on the string as oppose to the artificial harmonic way of having a second finger touch a 4th bove.

The particular note I'm using from the library is the A5. The first note sounded is a D that glisses up to stop on a pitch of a sounding C#.

Yes, the "nat" in the name of the patch means, that these are natural harmonics (just one finger).
