  • Can you set up Vienna Instruments on several Macs at once?

I just purchased the complete Winds library.  I want to use a couple of computers to play back the different sections.  Can I install the library on a second computer with a second dongle?  If so, is there a step by step outline on how to do it?  I've searched the site with no luck.

    Running a Quad-core mac  10.6.4

    Thanks.

  • You could go into your lisence controll center and check out what is listed there. On a computer with internet access, you can simply drag and drop any license to another synchrosoft (=vienna) dongle (both dongles need to be plugged in)

After you have transferred the licenses, they can be openend on another computer.

  • Can you run both computers at once with the full libraries?

Only if you have licences on both computers.

  • So I guess my initial question remains.  They seem to imply that you can spread your library out onto a number of workstations to lighten the load.  How does one go about doing that?  Do they expect you to re-purchase the library each and every time?  Don't they give you 3 computers to work with the one fee?

It all depends on which Collection you have. I can't remember whether the woodwinds is split into 2 licences or not.

  •  Each collection can be run on only one computer.  You can spread the collections out over several computers, strings I on one, strings II on another, basic woodwinds on a third, etc.

At least that would save you from having to purchase multiple licenses for any given single collection.  What you cannot do is use one single collection on multiple computers simultaneously.  To do that, multiple licenses would be required.  OTOH, a package like the cube or other similar large collections, contain many different individual libraries that could be spread out over several computers if desired.
