  • MIR sound check for three venues.

    Hi Deitz et al.

I recently posted on youtube a series of compositions that I composed and mixed using only Vienna instrument patches and MIR venues.  http://www.youtube.com/user/Bachbeatty

Compositions 001-013 were mixed using the Schubertsaal venue,  compositions 014-026 were mixed using the Mozartsaal venue and  compositions 027-029 were mixed using the Grossersaal. Most of the patches use the natural volume and all use pure character . For each composition the instruments were grouped and the output volume and dry/wet  ratio were controlled for the whole  group. No other compressors, reverb,  etc. were used. Would you and others who are familiar with MIR listen to a couple of the compositions mixed in the different venues and tell me if the sound falls within your sound design parameters for MIR. If there are any “tweaks “ to enhance the sound it would be much appreciated  if you would share them.

Hardware; Mac Pro running Logic Pro in the 64bit mode and music lab midi over  LAN to control a VisionDAW system with dual intel Quad core Xeon X5560 –2.8 Ghz, 8MB Cache,  4 x 500GB WDC Enterprise Class SATA II, 32 GB DDR3 1333Mhz RAM,  RME Hammerfall HDSF96/52 Audio interface, and  Presonnus Light Pipe.

The CPU runs at 25-30% capacity for a full orchestral compostion.

    Thanks,
