  • 2 versions of Vienna Instruments at once !?

I currently have Vienna Ensemble (free version, not VE Pro) v2.0 build 4017 open in a song in Logic, and also Vienna Instruments which is at v2.1.5132

When I open an instrument in Vienna Ensemble, at the top of the Licence list it says Vienna Instruments v2.0 build 4017 (same version as Vienna Ensemble). Does this mean that 2 versions of Vienna Instruments are running at the same time? If so, are there any disadvantages?

    One more thing:

When Vienna Instruments Pro is released, will this new version and interface be available within Vienna Ensemble, or am I stuck forever with build 4017? Will I have to upgrade to VE Pro to get the full advantage of VI Pro?

  • This is a good question. I would very much like to hear an answer myself. Is VI integrated into VE, or does VE simply include the installed version of VI?

Should VE not be able to integrate VI Pro, well, that would probably put me off as a buyer. However, I can't imagine VSL would make such a move.

  • As I understand it, VI is downloadable as the latest application, when you use it in your sequencer. I remember that the installation of VE also makes VI available, without the need of installing it separately . So I guess your stuck to the old VI version using VE. But I guess everything is working as it should, doesn't it?

  • Yes, it all works now, but I'd still like answers from the VSL team to my questions above....

We´ll see about thcompatibilty with the "normal" Vienna Ensemble. It probably won´t work in the first period of time after the VI PRO, but I hope we can find a solution quickly. You will be able to use VI PRO anyway, also without Vienna Ensemble or Vienna Ensemble PRO.

    Best,
